Full course description

Instructors: Barbara Tyroler and Ana Teresa Galizes

This class is designed for students interested in advancing their photographic and computer editing skills while focusing in-depth on community impact. They will apply ideas, research, and personal experiences to explore what is significant in their own lives and how they can best serve the community through the camera’s lens.

Ana will lead the class through the technical aspects of Lightroom software, including the file structure and storage methods, editing enhancements, and creating unique presets. Barbara will facilitate online group critique sessions designed to sharpen editing decisions and inspire stimulating conversation. Students will consider questions of truth-telling, gift-giving, memorializing, and documentation vs. metaphoric representation, reflecting upon their own behaviors in relation to power and authority. (16 hours / Intermediate)

This class will meet on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 pm ET.
